Our gentle blue giants! Blue whales are majestic cetaceans that travel the world's oceans, often in pods. These magnificent beings are larger, longer and heavier than any other animal ever! Often growing to 33 metres as adults and living a long life to 90 years old! Blue whales, despite their large size, feed on some of the smallest critters (krill), tiny shrimp-like creatures and can eat as many as 40 MILLION a day!
Sadly however, blue whales are endangered and under on-going threats from human activity. These gentle giants face threats from: hunting, pollution such as oil from spills and plastic, noise pollution, fishing net entanglement, and boat strikes.
What will you be supporting?
You will be supporting the Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) charity. This organisation are fighting for whales and dolphins and have four main objectives. They want to end cetacean captivity, stop whaling, create healthier seas and prevent deaths from nets.
